Estimating Number of Calls

While we use the traffic estimator for understanding approximate number of clicks, is there a way to estimate approximate number of CALLS (with call extensions, obviously).  I'm assuming it's a subset of clicks, is there a conversion rate we can use to say "X Clicks, and of those, Y will be clicks to call?"

Hello Brian C ! Welcome to the Community !

Getting information about your calls

You can get reports on the performance of your ads with call extensions for each ad group and campaign. For mobile devices, see the number of clicks on the "Call" button. In addition, if you're using Google forwarding numbers, you can also see the number of valid calls that connected.

Here's how you can review how many calls you've received for each ad group or campaign:

  1. On the Campaigns or Ad Groups tab on the Campaigns page, click the Segmentbutton above the statistics table.
  2. Select Click Type to see which clicks resulted in visits to your website or phone calls.
  3. Use "Mobile clicks-to-call" to view how many clicks you received on the phone number in your ads.
  4. If you're using Google forwarding numbers, you can also choose to see additional statistics columns to find out how many calls were connected. Click the Columnsbutton above the statistics table on the Campaigns or Ad Groups tab, select "Customize columns," and add columns from the "Call details" category.

Remember that for mobile devices, a click-to-call is reported as soon as the customer clicks to call your phone number, regardless of whether or not the call is completed.

Learn more about the additional reports available for upgraded extensions.

There is also an interesting debate explaining that actual calls on the phone number cannot be tracked by google and therefore you cannot tell if after a click there was actually a call or a cancelation of the intent of the user :
