Does Google automatically flag "added" or "excluded" in search terms?

Hello! When I'm looking at search terms in keywords on the AdWords interface, I can select an individual search term and then "add as a negative" or "add as a keyword". When I do this, this search term gets flagged with a red or green icon as "added" or "excluded".

My question is -- if I do NOT add a search term as a negative or keyword HERE, but rather add it directly to the keywords or negatives lists in the shared library, will Google automatically flag these search terms in the keywords/search terms section with the green or red icon?

Thanks!

Jeff

@Jeff M;

If I got you correctly,  the section of the UI, in which you add the keyword (in a "positive" match type or as a "negative"), does not matter.
