Guys,

Please help,

My DSA Campaign which lives in a running Account (With 10 Keywords Based Search Campaigns), has not accrued any impression for 2 days now.

I was wondering whether i should have keywords in my DSA campaign since i have the keywords tab there?

Thanks,

Rayan

Hi Rayan,

No you do not need to have keywords for a Dynamic Search Ads campaign. The keywords tab will remain there but you can ignore it, unless you want to add negative keywords which would act to exclude products that you might not want to show from your feed.

Here are the things I would check to make sure your campaign is set up correctly:

Make sure that you have opted to make this a Dynamic Search Ads campaign:

  1. Click in to your DSA campaign
  2. Click on the Settings tab
  3. Check that you have selected the "Dynamic Search Ads" campaign type

Make sure you have a Dynamic Search Ad Extension:

  1. Click on the Ad Extensions tab
  2. Select View: Dynamic Search Ad Extension
  3. If you don't see your website there, click + Extension
  4. Enter your Website Domain
  5. Click Save

Make sure that you have an Auto Target:

  1. Click on the Auto targets tab
  2. If you do not see an Auto Target listed there click + Dynamic ad target
  3. Select either Add all webpages or Add a group of webpages
  4. Click Save

Other tips on optimizing your DSAs here. If you still aren't getting impressions after that, let us know and we can get our support team to take a look at what's going on with your campaign.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I purposely did not the campaign type to Dynamic Search Ads, as I would like to use keyword less ads based on audience target.
Is it possible to use the DSA at the adgroup level on a "All features" campaign running on the "Search network only"?

Thanks for your help,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for posting! As far as I'm aware, to use Dynamic Search Ads, you'll need to choose the "Search Network only - Dynamic Search Ads" campaign type. This leads me to believe that it's not possible to create a DSA ad group within a regular search campaign, you would have to create a new campaign.

I hope this helps!

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for your reply. I tought the same too. The only things that puzzle me is why are the auto target still available when you have the regular campaign set up... It seems like it was possible in the past but not anymore.

My problem is that when I trurn the campaign to "Search Network only - Dynamic Search Ads" then I cannot assign audience to my campaign...

Thus my quesition.
Thanks for your help,
Paul

I think it best to use negative keywords like sold out, not available in the DSA campaigns. Because when link expires or items are sold out google may not figure out what happened to item you are selling for DSA campaigns.
