Do I need another ad group for state abbreviations?

If I'm bidding on "keyword + state", do I also need to bid on the same keyword with state abbreviated as well? Or is just "lawyer texas" enough? Does google know to interpret state abbreviation and full spelled the same thing?

Hi there;
No. This would be a redundancy. And also, you don't need to include the state's or any other location's name within the keyword.

Geo targeting them within the geographic options would suffice.

I've read of PPC professionals who include the location for the sake of improving QS. Is that not true?
