Hello,

I am trying to feagure how does this work. Am I doing something wrong or what?

I have changed the placements with good update one, increae default bid as well. But the status is still showing "You don't have enough Google AdSense pageviews yet to diagnose the combination of your current campaign settings and targeting criteria."

Does it mean Adowrd need to take some more time to show my ads on placements?

Your settings are loose enough, you have 10 frequency capping and targeting a large teritorry such as india. The language is ok, it is widely used in the area but it will restrict your impressions to sites having pages in english.

Now what I find too restrictive is your previous targeting using 3 elements : you selected some sites, but you asked the system also to find you pages in those sites matching some topics ( how many topics you selected ?  ) and if the pages matched a topic they should also match the keywords you selected. The result is an intersection from those 3 conditions which leads to very few pages.

Usually sites have designated Topics so if you selected for example some sites with the topic "sports" and you have chosen the topic "Dental Health" the result can be zero impressions because the site is not labeled as belonging to that topic.

You can either

a) choose Topics and put some keywords and let the system find you sites or

b) choose some sites and put some keywords and let the system find you pages which match those keywords

In some cases keywords can be too restrictive too if you are using keywords from too many words, you will get the message "few page matches" meaning that the system has suspended those keywords.

The Ad rotation for clicks somehow does not fit the bid choice of viewable CPM which means the goal of getting impressions not clicks, but I don't think that could be the blocking element.

I think as I've read before, that can happen in two cases :

1- The publisher blocks your ads to show on his site
2- Competitors increase their bids lead to knock your ads off the page, in that case you can try to increase your bids.

You could read this discussion for more info:

Hello Mansoor,

Is your targeting too tight ? For example besides managed placements are you using many other restrictions and a small location targeting ?

Is it a placement with low overall traffic ?

If so, I think this message could be translated in "you don't have enough impressions yet" , so you could let some time pass or relax the targeting by removing some of the restrictions, in order to get impressions.

lets assume it is the case #1 then how could every publisher is blocking my ads to be shown on their website?
for #2 I have already increased my Default bid with 25% but still I cant see any impression nor clicks on same.

Thanks for this detailed reply.
I have changed frequency capping to 2 per day per ad group.
Also selected some related keywords with relevant topics.
I think I have to wait and watch the effect of recent changes,

I will surely update here.
Thanks again.

Around 20-30% of your viewers will be seeing the Ad even 7 times according to some statistics from the "Frequency and Reach report" . I think you should enable a Frequency capping of 7 pe campaign , especially if you will have many ad groups. Read some more from here :

https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Measure-results/Display-Reporting-Reach-and-Frequency/td-p/1...

You never know when the converting action takes place, maybe it is from view 2 if the offer is iresitible maybe it is at view 7.

The banners which work best for me are the 160 x 600 and the 336 x 280.

for me 320 X 50 (HTML5) is doing good I think.
Status: Impressions - 4765, Clicks- 6

What you prefer HTML or flash ads?

The HTML5 variant is picking up traffic from mobile ( while Flash is not) . You can see this if you click the "Segment" button and select the "Device". So those 6 clicks could be from mobiles.

The frequency capping has to be higher because it is capping normal impressions, not viewables ones.

For example you can enable the custom Column "Viewable impressions" and when you count Impressions vs "Viewable impressions" on the same placement you get to see a ratio such as 2-3 impressions per 1 viewable impression.

So I would expect from your 4765 impressions , the "viewable impressions" column to show around 2000-2500 ( which are the ones you get to pay for).

Because there are much more impressions than viewable impressions, a capping of 2 impressions will actually translate in a capping of 1 "viewable impression" per user, which is too little.
