Display Network Target Placement Help

Hi

I've been using Search Network Ads for a number of years now and want to give Display Network a go, however, every time I use Display Network my Ads are shown on totally irrelevant places. I'm aware that I can 'target' specific websites on this display network, my question is, if I use this feature will my ads ONLY show on these websites that I've targeted, or will they show on the websites that I've targeted AS WELL AS the (in my opinion) irrelevant ones that they were showing on previously.

For example I'd like to target a website for jewellery makers, if I select this website using the '+target' tab will my ad only show on that one site?

I've read the tutorials but I still can't get my head around it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

With managed placements you can target specific website or web pages which is part of Google Display Network.

Your ad will show only on the selected website or pages.

Find more information about adding managed placements in your account here https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2471182

Hope this helps,

Deepak

Also,   you could try placements AND keywords to narrow your targeting only to relevant pages within the placements. (i.e. Pages  within placements with content which  match the theme of keywords.)

I'd also recommend trying out keywords and topicsTopic targeting lets you place your AdWords ads on websites about certain topics e.g. sports, music, home, garden. If you add topics and keywords, the system will show your display ads on websites about a certain topic that mention the keywords you have added to your campaign.

Another option to keep in mind is, if you don't want your ads to show on mobile apps, simply add 'adsenseformobileapps.com' to the 'Placements' section of  'Campaign Exclusions'.
