I wanted to advertise my youtube videos. I am completely new to this and don't know how much this costs. I just want about a few thousand views per video but not pay a ton of money. Is this not the way to go if I don't want to spend a lot of money? Thanks

Hi MugaNuga,

I would suggest you continue your research and learn all you can before you start spending any money.  Costs vary across all advertising efforts, it's very difficult to determine what a 'couple thousand' views will cost you.  What I can tell you is that through Adwords (and most advertising platforms) you as the advertiser have control over your spending.

I'm not exactly sure how you want to go about this but I've gathered a few resources that you may find helpful:

Hope this helps!

Hi MugaNuga,

That's a great question. It sounds as though you're interested in TrueView videos, formerly known as YouTube Promoted Videos. As with other kinds of advertising through AdWords, costs can vary, as these videos also run on an auction structure. This means your videos will compete with your competitor's videos to appear on the same page on YouTube.

In order to target your videos to pages, you will pick keywords related to your videos that will in turn be matched to users' searches on YouTube. You'll set a cost-per-click bid for these keywords.

To keep your overall spend to an acceptable level, make sure you set your daily budgets to a comfortable amount.

Thanks for your question, and best of luck!

Kind regards,
