Conversion tracking

I'm trying to install conversion tracking on our 3 websites, homedelivered.com, detergentsolutions.com, and medicalsupplycart.com. Its on the right page, in the right place, but its still not working (and I did it for detergentsolutions 2 weeks ago). Is there something wrong with the script?

Hi Andrew, you're missing an "http:" on the URLs and the URL for the section is incomplete. (It ends with ... - it should have more text there.)

Go back to AdWords and copy the code directly from the Conversion tracking screens and compare it.

If you go over the link the ... turns into the complete string, so he is missing only the http:

Thanks for the replies!

I copied the code directly from Adwords. It didn't have the http:

I'll try it out, it makes a lot of sense

Thanks again,

Andrew

Hi Andrew K,

The "missing" http: is a new change to the conversion code. What this does is match the protocol of the page. If you serve the page with https, the script will also be called with https:. This avoids the security message you get if your page is https and has links with http--"some items on this page are insecure".

This is not a syntax error, it works just fine and you don't have to test for https within the Javascript call.

My question for you is how are you delivering your "Thank You" page? If you are using a post back (aka Ajax), the script does not run, not even the noscript part will run. If that is what you are doing, return only the image part of the script, not including the noscript tags.

Next question, all web sites are advertised with the same AdWords account? If not, only conversions within the account that created the conversion code will be recorded.

If it's not either of these, let us know and we'll try to think of other reasons the conversion code isn't working. If you have Javascript errors on your page before the conversion code appears, that could prevent the conversion code from running.

Best of Luck!

Pete
