Hi Mrx,

'Conversion Optimizer' can help automatically get the most possible conversions for your budget, based on your campaign's history of conversions. Please refer the links below to find more information about conversion optimizer.

'Optimize for clicks' is an 'ad rotation' setting which will give preference to ads that are expected to attract more clicks than other ads in an ad group, based on your past clickthrough rates (CTRs). You can find more information about ad rotation settings here.

And you will get the 'ads not showing because of your budget' message when your budget is limited.

Your ad might not show as frequently as you'd like or might not show at all if your budget is limited.

You can increase your daily budget if you can, or try to lower your bids to reduce the average cost per click.

You can find more information about depleted daily budget here.

Hope this helps.

Hello Mrx A,

Welcome to AdWords Community!

The goal of Conversion Optimizer is to get you the most conversions given your cost-per-acquisition (CPA) goals. Rather than focusing on clicks (CPC) or impressions (CPM), Conversion Optimizer focuses on maximizing conversions. Please note, for this to be enabled you have to have atleast 15 conversions in last 30 days or you must be getting conversions at a constant pace so system can use that conversion data and generate more conversions for with in your specified Target CPA.

However, Optimize for Clicks is an Ad Rotation Setting, which rotates the ads such that the ad which is more likely to get clicks is served more often.Gives preference to ads that are expected to attract more clicks than other ads in the ad group, based on your past CTR

Please note, if you have conversion optimizer enabled for a campaign and you use Optimize for Clicks in the Ad Rotation setting, then system will simply ignore the Ad Rotation setting and consider the Conversion Optimizer Setting instead.

Hope this Helps.

Hi Prashanth,

What if we have "Optimize for conversions" but we very less or don't have conversions on that campaign?

Hi Rakesh,

You should not use "optimize for conversions" if you do not have conversions on a campaign. Otherwise, the system will not have data to optimize around.

Once the campaign has gotten more conversions, you can go back and change the setting!
