Change MCC manager's access settings

Hello,

I have a question that is probably very simple to solve (or has a simple reason why it is not allowed), but I can't seem to figure it out. I spent quite some time looking for a solution.

I have made a MCC account, and have linked an existing AdWords account to this MCC. However, in this linked account, I can't seem to be able to get any higher access settings for my MCC than "User Interface and API" (translated this term from other language, so not sure whether this is 100% correct, but you get the idea). At the MCC side while linking new accounts, the page just mentions at the right top that "User Interface and API" access rights are being requested, without a possibility to change the requested settings. At the linked account side under access settings, I see the value "User Interface and API" but I am not able to change it (as opposed to a "regular" invited user, whose access settings I can easily change by clicking on the setting value).

Can anyone help me? Or is it simply not allowed for an MCC to have higher access settings (would be strange)?

Thanks!

William

Hello, William.

Being unable to manage budgets of linked accounts is most likely not an access issue. In order to be able to manage a linked account's budget from an MCC, that account needs to be "on manager defined spend (MDS).

Have a look at:

http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=64347

http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=63031

If you have not followed the steps provided in part II of the second link, this is (in my opinion) the reason you cannot manage a budget of a linked account.

Hi, William.

Have a look at this page http://support.google.com/adwordsapi/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=30788, please. User interface and API and API Only are the only two levels of access present for an MCC manager. So you can't get any higher, if you have User interface and API access you are allowed to do pretty much everything in a linked account.

Dear Calin,

Thanks for your reply. However, the reason I asked this question was because I was not able to manage the budget from any linked account, via the MCCs Budget tab.

I thought the problem was that I did not have administrative access, since the budget page of the linked account explicitly mentions I do not have the right access level to access the page (also, I found a lot of online pages referring to the "MCC administrative access"). So, my mistake, I should have posted my original problem Smiley Happy

Any ideas why I am not able to manage the budget from the MCC? Should I change some settings in the linked accounts themselves?

Thanks!

William

William, did you ask the same question on the old forum here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=20c7a6bfacaae226&hl=en? I'd like to go there and post that the solution was offered here, on the new forum, if this is the case.
