Can an ad's link contain the # character?

In building a new website our developers created longer pages with sub-sections of content further down the page, navigated to by a small side-nav with bookmarked/anchored sections of the site.

The link would be: http://www.example.com/page.html#section2

Can I use the #section2 in an AdWords ad link to that location? Is the "#" an acceptable character?

I could not find a clear answer for or against its usage

Thanks,

Hi Matthew,

Welcome to AdWords Community!

Are you asking if you're allowed to use # in an ad's destination URL? If so, yes you can use it, provided it leads to the intended page which is functional.

Cheers,
Sumanth
