Broad Negative Keywords still show if used with selected keywords

I'm noticing that negative keywords that are broad will still show on my ads. For example if I sell Apples online but I make yellow a negative keyword, someone can type "yellow apples" and it will not show, but if you type "apples that are sold in cali in the summer that are yellow and ripe" (pretty much positive then negative keyword) it will display on the search engine result. This only happens if the positive word is in front, and the user types six or more words, then my negative word, then another word. I haven't test on all variations, but if I delete some words in the middle the search is blocked, but if there are enough words between the two it wont.

Any way to prevent this?

The paid keyword is a broad match, and the negative keyword is also a broad match.

Google only looks at the first ten keywords in a search query.

So for
"apples that are sold in cali in the summer that are yellow and ripe"

yellow is the 12th word.

Such long search queries are very uncommon and unlikely to affect you much.

More on negative keywords (it mentions the 10 word limit)

Thank you. I did not know there was a limit.
