Adwords keeps showing "refresh this page" after single change

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on Google forum, so forgive me if I posted this question / issue on the wrong place. Recently my adwords account keeps showing an annoying red bar on top of the page saying "A new version of the AdWords interface is available. Please refresh this page to try again." I am quite sure that everyone has seen such a message before. I clicked on this "refresh this page", adwords is reloading, and halfway it red bar re-appears again. As a result, i can't do anything in my Adwords account. it seems that this error message appears whenever i do a small change in my adwords account.

How to reproduce the red bar on top of the page

1. I log into my adwords account,

2. click on campaign

3. click on keywords

4. change a keyword from 'broad match' to 'phrase match'

5. a small yellow notification appears on top of the page saying changes have been saved.

6. I change another keyword from 'broad match' to 'phrase match'

7. RED bar appears saying a new version of adwords interface is available.

From this point onwards, i can't do anything basically.

What i did to resolve this problem

I tried the following to resolve this issue:

- Click on refresh

- Click on CTRL-refresh

- I cleaned the browser cache and history,

- I closed the browser and restarted the browser.

- I restarted the computer.

None of what I did seem to fix this issue.

I tried different browsers, but all browsers show the same problem /behavior.

- Chrome version 28.0.1500.95 m & windows 7 ultimate, service pack 1

- Firefox 22.0 & windows 7 ultimate, service pack 1

- IE 10.0.9200.xxxx & windows 7 ultimate, service pack 1

Please let me know if this is a bug, and if it is, when it will be resolved. If it's not a bug, please advise me what to do to get rid of this "refresh this page" blablabla

Thank everyone who took the time to read this post, and I would be even more grateful if you could reply to me.

Regards,

Leroy

Hello,

@Adrian B: Nope, no newly installed firewall.

@Everyone: Just checked my adwords account again without changing anything in my browser or OS. And it seems that my Adwords is working again, no annoying error messages appearing. I checked the my Adwords again in Firefox, IE and on a different computer. The error message did not appear again.

I assume it was a small bug in Adwords.

Thanks everyone for comments and feedback. I'm just glad I can work with my Adwords account again.

Hi Leroy,

Same problem here. I click on the link, page refreshes, but keeps showing the same error. Looks like a problem in the software.... Smiley Sad

Just a small addition to my post:
- I just tried the same operation on a different computer, and the same problem. "refresh this page" blabla.

I am "glad" i am not the only one who has this problem.

Hello there;
Try the usual remedy: deleting cookies and clear cache.

Having same problems. I even tried to empty my cache, log out, restart my computer. Nothing seems to help. Hopefully Google solves this problem instantly. I need to prepare my reports for my clients.

Try disabling the Ad Blocker or any other browser plug-in that blocks Ads.

The red bar indicates that a javascript is not loading on the page.

Why would you block ads while using adwords to publish ads ? I don't know.

Hellow Adrian B.

Thanks for your suggestions.

In Chrome I only have 2 extensions, namely "edit this cookie" and "web developer". I believe i don't have anything that actually blocks ads. My default browser is Chrome. I use IE and Firefox to test my developments. Bot IE and Firefox are clean, so no extensions, plugins or addons installed. Problem also occur in IE and Firefox.

Do you have a newly installed firewall ? Those can block content like javascript too .

Only scripts that load with the page are needed to render the content and functions.
