Adwords campaign for a URL I do not own?

Hello, Is it possible to run an Adwords campaign for a URL that I do not own? I want to sell my home. At the moment my realtor has photos, downloadable brochures, etc. available on their website. I simply want to drive more traffic to that site. Any thoughts?

Thank-you!

Hi Laurie I,

Yes, you can do that, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. If your realtor also advertises, you will compete for impressions. Only one ad per domain will show on a single SERP.

You can make your campaign more specific than the realtor. Send people directly to the page that shows your home, write ads that include special features of the home, with the area of town.

What I don't know is how much you should bid as a max CPC. That depends on your competition for the ad space. I'd suggest going about this carefully to get started and see what kind of results you might get. You'll only be able to track CTR. You won't know if visitors downloaded the brochure and you won't know how qualified the visitors are as prospects. Start with a daily budget with an amount you can afford to lose all together. It takes a while to get a campaign functioning properly.

Best of Luck!
