Advanced location options

Hi,

I have a question about the location settings.

As I recall, once I'm choosing a country, all the users in this country and all the users using the country google domain supposed to see my ads.

For example: if I choose Germany, all the people in Germany and all the people using Google.de supposed to see my ads.

When I mark (in the advanced options) "People in, searching for, or viewing pages about my targeted location" This is in fact what happens, but when I'm using the option "People in my targeted location" I no longer see my ads from Google.de

Does anyone know why?

This is not necessarily so.

Hi,

Are you running a German campaign, German keywords and ads too?

I would suggest that you take a look at how language targeting works as this will also have an impact on where your ads will show.

Hi

You can also use the Ad Diagnosis tool make AdWords tell you why or why not your ad is shown in a specific place at a given time.

Hi Moshe,

My language tab sets for all the languages - for the same reason you mention. Still I can't see my ads.

The campaign settings are:

Targeted locations: Germany

Location options (advanced) - Target - People in my targeted location.

Languages: All

Physically I'm in Israel but I'm searching from Google.de

Before I changed the Location option to "People in my targeted location" I sow my ads but now I can't see them.

Do you have any idea?

Hi gelshtei;

  • On the Adwords interface -  Do you see impressions?
  • Are you using the Ad PrviewTool to see to preview of your ad?
  • Why are you targeting "all languages"  while your campaign is targeting Germany?

Hi,

1. I have lots of imp, clicks and conv.

2. I see my ads in the Preview tool

3. I target all the languages because I don't want to miss users that German is not there only language.

My problem is that I can't check whether I appear or not in the easy way - by using the google.de domain - like I did till now, and I don't trust the preview tool.

Hello again gelshtei;

Use ONLY the ad preview tool to preview your ad: (Do not use your own laptop)

If you would like to check what a random user sees on SERP use the ad preview tool. (Set location = Germany)

The results you see on your browser, when you are signed-in (on your laptop), are tailored to your preferences, as set by ads preferences. These ads (appear on your SERP) are biased to your personal needs.

Do you fined this tool reliable? because in the "Showing ads right now?" it gives unreasonable campaign that isn't targeted to the geographic I choose. It happens all the time.

gelshtei;

The tool is very reliable. It represents real searches conducted by real users without keeping user's preferences or the user's search history ( by saving cookies as happens when you search on your machine).
