I spent over 40 min on the phone writing my ads and setting up my campaign with adwords expert.
After nearly a week or more I am told my ads were disapproved (basically poorly written). Whose
fault? I missed my busiest selling season-Easter.
Of course, I can't reach anyone on the weekend to get help. Any ideas?

Being "poorly written" is not one of the disapproval reasons the system normally displays.
Can you go to the Ads tab of this campaign. When you hover your cursor over the icon in the Status column for one of the disapproved ads, what reason does the system display for the disapproval?
Although Google does offer support to help new advertisers get up and running, the advertiser is always responsible for what is in their own account.
