I'm new to AdWords. What happens when your bid is lower than similar competitors?

Hi WStarling,

Welcome to the forum!

Ads a placed with what they call Ad rank. Ad rank = Quality Score X MaxBid.

The higher the ad rank, the higher the placement on the page. Your ad needs to meet a minimum QS to show in a top (not side) position. We don't know what that minimum is.

If your QS is the same as your competitors QS, a lower bid would cause your ad to show below your competitors' ads.

Hope this helps!

Best of Luck!

Pete
