Ad disapproved due to location - but is fine

Hi All,

A number of my ads have been disapproved because the destination is not working.

However, when I test them by:

1) Clicking on them in the interface

2) Manually typing the link in my browser

They work perfectly.

Any idea why this is being caused and how to fix?

Many thanks for any assistance,

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

Have you done the gclid test? Some websites will block requests that include unknown parameter names in the query string. The test is simple, the solution may not be so simple.

Make a request for a page by typing your URL, then add the gclid parameter to the query string. The value of the gclid is not important. Here are a couple simple examples:
http://www.example.com?gclid=asdlfkjadlfkjlkjasdgf
http://www.example.com?pageid=1234&gclid=asdlfkjadlfkjlkjasdgf

Use the format appropriate for your site. If you get a 404 Page Not Found error, this is the problem. How you go about fixing it depends on your CMS. Talk to your webmaster about a solution.

Best of Luck!

Hi Pete,

Yep, the gclid parameters do not affect the page loading at all - no 404's. Still loads fine.

Hmmmm...

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

Try copying the URL from one of the ads and pasting it in your browser, Could be a typo, just a thought. Also, does the domain where the user ends up the same as your final URL?
