Ad Group Keyword Status

If I am in the keywords tab of an ad group, and I hover my cursor over the speech bubble in the Status column for a keyword, sometimes I see the following message: "Another creative in the ad group was selected over this one." Is there a way to find out which ad in the ad group was selected?

If another creative in the ad group is being shown, then why is Google telling me that the answer to "Showing ads right now?" is "no"? If no ads are being shown, I wouldn't expect to see the "Another creative in the ad group was selected over this one" message displayed in the speech bubble.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
