why does my business listing not accept my website address

Hi,

I am trying to list my new business and it still shows the pictures and reviews for the former business on that address, it also does not accept my web address. I've tried the edit function in my business and still had no success, i have verified the business so it should be straight forward ?

Hi @Asif N

Without any further information about your business or website, it's hard to say.

If there are issues such as redirects on the URL, or hacked websites, Google might not accept it.

Can you give more info so we can investigate?
1. Full business name
2. Current business address
3. Current telephone number
4. Google Maps address
5. Website address (if applicable)

Hi @asif n

So the previous business there was Fit4Less?

The reviews will likely stay, as there hasn't been enough of a shift in the business type to trigger a removal by Google.  If the other gym has simply moved elsewhere, then we might be able to get them transferred.  If you've bought the biz and rebranded, then they'll stay.

The website issue is possibly Google being a bit sensitive. Are you putting in www.fit-cube.com instead of fit-cube.com? If so, Google could be picking up the redirect and reject it based on that.

Hi @asif n

Sorry - you're leaving the old website in there?  Or do you now own the old domain?

Am a little confused by your comment "shall i try chnging it to just fit-cube.com".  Do you mean the name or the website?

If the name, then no - that's no good because it'll be violating Google's guidelines.

If the website, then the website link should go directly to the site that represents the business.

Or, are you asking if the website URL should be http://fit-cube.com/location-contact/ or http://fit-cube.com/?
If so, since the site appears to represent just one location rather than an entire chain, yes the fit-cube.com should suffice.

One quirk I've noticed lately with the dashboard is that changes can get stuck if you enter it only once.  Sometimes you have to make the change two or three times (even if the "change" is exactly what you put in before) to get it to stick properly.

If that's still not taking the pending away, then contact Google Support. There must be something I can't see that's triggering this.

1- log into your Google my business dashboard http://www.google.com/mybusiness
2- select support from upper left hamburger menu
3- a help screen will appear to the right
4- Scroll down and select Need More Help
5- Select the specific problem

6- Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose most appropriate contact method for you (some are not always available, so you might check at different times of the day)

Alternatively you can try contacting them:
Facebook https://www.facebook.com/googlemybusiness
Twitter https://twitter.com/GoogleMyBiz

(I get good results from twitter)
