Inquiring about reviews. Currently have a total of 13 reviews. 12 are 5 star, and one is a 4.9 on Yelp. The rating that I've been given on Google is a 4.8. Customer that gave the rating on Yelp was familiar with how their algorithm works and knew they would put his review as "Not Recommended" if he gave it a 5 star. Can you confirm what mathematical formula you're using to come up with a 4.8?

Google doesn't reveal details about its algorithm or how it calculates review averages, however it is likely a Bayesian style average.
