Recommended Photo Aspect Ratio
I have looked through the help pages trying to find what the recommend photo aspect ratio should be. I want to know if they should be square (1:1 ratio), wide (16:9 ratio) or tall (9:16 ratio).
From reading the help page's minimum resolution recommendation it leads me to believe that we should be using 1:1 ratio except for the cover photo, but it is not specific.
All I can find in the help pages is this:
Best practices for photos
Your photos will look best on Google if they meet the following standards:
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Size: Between 10KB and 5MB
- Minimum resolution: 720px tall, 720px wide
- Quality: The photo should be in focus and well lit, and have no photoshop alterations or excessive use of filters. The image should represent reality.
What ratio should we be using for inside, outside, product, and staff photos?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Re: Recommended Photo Aspect Ratio
I believe the cover photo is the only one with the set ratio. Other photos Google will tweak to suit the display purpose at the time. So an inside image might display as a 4:3 in one spot, and as a 1:1 in another.
