Putting URL encoding in Search String

Business Name:  Infinite Beauty UK

Location:  33A High Street, Heathfield, East Sussex

Telephone Number:  01435 868447

Business Type:  Beauty salon

I am a complete novice to this so please bear with me (also getting more and more confused).

I have claimed my business, it has been verified.  If searching for "beauty salon heathfield" or "beauty salons heathfield" my salon does not appear in the list of salons.  If searching for "beauty salon heathfield east sussex" my salon appears in the list.  How do I get my salon to appear when potential clients search for "beauty salon heathfield" or "beauty salons heathfield".  My SEO says "beauty salon heathfield".

Can you please help?

Interestingly, I'm in London, UK, and I'm seeing what @Amanda H has described.

Hi Helmut

I have been checking myself and typing in beauty salon heathfield and I
don't appear on the map or in the list. Could it possibly be that I am too
close (distance) to find myself? I hate to sound thick but SEO, etc, is so
new to me and I am struggling to understand how to get things to work.

Kind regards

Hi there,

So pleased that I am not going mad. This is the problem. Local people
won't find me unless they type in the whole string "beauty salon heathfield
east sussex". It is too long. Unfortunately, I don't know how to rectify
this problem.

I made a slight mistake in posting screenshots in my earlier response: I mistakenly posted a results page, instead of a results page for the second image. The business appears third (not first) for beauty salon heathfield east sussex on

I'm not sure how much of a relevance it would be, but have you moved the pin representing your business on Google Maps recently? According to the edit history on Map Maker, there seems to be a few edits at the end of July (three times on 28 July and once on 29 July).
