A local restaurant recently changed management. During the transition, they changed their name too. Nothing else about the restaurant (hours, menu, phone, etc.) has changed. Someone marked it as closed. I want to reopen it so I can just change the name. There's no sense in rebuilding the business entry from scratch and losing all of the photos and reviews from the past several years.

There are actually two listings now:

So you'll need to do two things -

1) contact support and go through the process to reopen a permanently closed location

2) merge the two listings.

Support may be able to do both things for you at the same time.

@MargaretO: I received feedback that the official policy for a change of management is to create a new listing. I created the second one with the new name last night. I'll see if support can help with merging though, thanks!

Hmm.  OK that's conflicting info from what I understand. Let me get clarification, as things may have changed.

Hi @Austin T

I received confirmation the advice given was incorrect.  
In the process one of our fantastic Googlers cleaned this up for you.

Log into your dashboard and have a look at the listing.  Tweak the name if needed (I think at the moment it's missing "los"?). If it's not verified, then go through the process. 

Post back if you're still having probs.

 

Also post back in a couple of weeks if the review count doesn't straighten itself out.  Says 1 review, but there are loads more in the display.
