Our business is online... where do we start?

Hello everyone.

Our company is based all online - we do not sell any physical products.

We signed up for Google My Business and we struggled providing business information.

  1. First off, we did not know what category our business was, we gave up in looking for anything to do with technology and websites and went for Corporate Office. Is there a better alternative?
  2. Seen as we are online, we do not want people to know our address either. How can we hide this? Also, we had to specify an area that we serve, so we just put in 999 miles but that does not cover the whole world (our products are in various different languages). How can we fix this?
  3. Also, how can we hide our phone number?

Thanks very much.

It isn't clear what you do. But if I had to guess, it sounds like your business doesn't qualify for a listing. See the eligibility criteria. It is probably best to just use a website, but not Google My Business.

#1 - How about software company?

#2 - Service areas are for people making in-person contact, so defining the whole world isn't really feasible.

#3 - You can't. Businesses are expected to always have a phone number.

Good luck!
