Mainstreet Marketing Requesting Payment to Keep Google Listing Actove

I received a call today from "Mainstreet Marketing" informing me that my business has been flagged for removal. They told me that I must pay a "lifetime fee" of $359.00 to keep my business listing active.

Is this a scam?

I have met all of the verification points.. or have I?

I am concerned as this particular business is an educational non-profit, whos solvency is threated by this random fee. Quite frankly, it feels like a shakedown...

Please advise!

Jason,

we have been receiving this kind of calls for so many years now. Honestly I have Thoroughly searched the SEO Subject and learned that no one can advance and enhance your SEO except your own company's true performance. anyone else insist they would make your appearance on the SEO on first page can not guarantee that. however, advertising with Google is best. I would initiate the call to Google if needed, not wait till someone calls me. Hope this helped.

@Lise P your best bet would be to call your credit company and dispute the charge based on fraud.
