Incorrect Google Maps Data affecting my business

Hello all,

My Holiday Let business in the UK is based at the post code CA23 3AS.

Business name is 'Cumbrian Rentals'. Address is Far Moor End, Ennerdale, CA23 3AS, Cumbria.

Web address is www.cumbrian-rentals.co.uk

Tel: 01768 780571

When performing a Google maps search a local Pub called the 'Fox and Hounds' shows up adjacent to my property. My property is centrally located in 22 acres of National Park. The Pub is, in reality, located in the centre of the local village of Ennerdale Bridge. The Pub is also showing in it's actual location [Post Code CA23 3AR]. Someone has used my address to relocate the Pub as it shows up with my address, including the name of the property. I noticed the changes when mail for the Pub was being physically delivered to my postbox.

I have edited Google Maps over the last few weeks a huge number of times but nothing has changed.

The Pub tenant is aware of the situation but has not been able to rectify the situation either.

Has anyone any advice that could remove the incorrect location data?

Thanks

Jack Preacher

CumbrianRentals and Fox and Hounds.jpg

The top screengrab shows my property, Cumbrian-Rentals, alongside the Pub, Fox & Hounds

The bottom screengrab shows where the pub actually exists to the left of the picture.

@Jack Preacher

Taking a look onto my below screen capture

would you please mind elaborating your issue?

I don't get it or can't replicate it.

The above result of mine seems base on this GMaps Link and its view:

Thanks for the quick response Helmut.
If you type in the postcode, CA23 3AS it should replicate the problem.

@Jack Preacher

searching for just "CA23 3AS" I get this:

Searching instead for "Cumbrian Rentals CA23 3AS"  I get this:

Can't you provide your searching link and what you get then?

How to add screen captures or similar to posts?

Just put "CA23 3AS", don't mention Cumbrian rentals..that should do it.

Ah, you did that...I missed it. When I put in just the postcode it initially comes up with Cumbrian Rentals at the correct location, but zooming in a level or two and then the Pub comes into view.

I now figured out some stuff too:

in MapMaker there are both at almost the same location 54.526058,-3.426031 visible - each with a place Label:

But due to some bad changes for "Fox and Hounds Inn" done by a mapper "Anonymous6789" and the fact "Fox and Hounds Inn" is a verified business all edits of  "Anonymous6789" are under GoogleModeration.

I don't know why you didn't contact the owner of "Fox and Hounds Inn" and getting him to update his business page through his dashboard.

I have unfortunately no idea where the correct location on GMaps & MapMaker  "Fox and Hounds Inn" should be.

But the owner should have all the possibilities to achive the correct location shown via his dahsboard. or at least contacting business support.

You Jack should be able to  correct the location for the "Fox and Hounds Inn"

Yeah, I did contact the current owners of the Pub but the edits were made illegally by someone [who has since left the area] in order to gain a 'legal' electoral roll entry. Needless to say the original author has vanished and the current owners don't have any idea of what's gone on in the past.

I've been 'correcting' the location for a few weeks now to no avail.

The trouble is that my business relies on my property being secluded....not having a Pub virtually on top of it....

Do you know who http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=66&uid=214592092124692886789 aka "Anonymous6789" is - having made apparently the pending edits for the pub ?

In case he would undo all his edits it might be possible (but not sure) to get a Regional lead for UK to move the incorrect location without running again onto the wall of "Google Moderation" for the pub.

If not the only option for you would be getting help on this by business support
