If you have GMB listing verified in your account but no longer manage that listing, how can you unverify without having it deleted from Google Maps?

deleting a  listing from your dahsboard will just unverify it - without deleting / removing it form GMaps

Helmut, thank you for your reply. Just to conform, by following these steps (https://support.google.com/business/answer/4669092?hl=en) it will just remove it from an account but not remove it from Google Maps?

Yes.

  • Log into your GMB dashboard
  • Click “edit”
  • Click the “info” tab
  • Click “remove listing”
  • Check all the checkboxes
  • Click “delete account”

The last step does NOT delete your Google account or the listing itself. It simply un-verifies it so that you are no longer controlling it. The listing will still exist and someone else can take control of it.
