How to hide a google Review and *rankings

We have a google + page and have set the reviews to private, but when we type in our brand ski solutions into google search they are still displaying in the business box on the right. We don't want to delete the reviews and star rankings just hide them. Is this possible?

Ahh now I understand Craig, thanks for the screenshots.

What you're seeing are review snippets. These are automatically generated by Google and some companies get them, some don't. That is all determined by the algorithm and there's no way to affect that unfortunately. This article has a bit more on review snippets: https://support.google.com/business/answer/6088158?hl=en

Hi @Craig B

The setting that you've selected refers to reviews that your business leaves for other businesses - it is possible to stop those from displaying on your Google+ page.

But it is not possible to hide the reviews that customers leave for your business on your business listing.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply,
One of our competitors crystal ski has reviews but you have to click on them to see whereas ours are displayed. How would you do that?

Thanks

Hi Craig, Can you provide a screen shot of what you're seeing for yourself vs the other company? Thanks.

I am also wondering if there is a way to disable Google Plus reviews altogether. This site doesn't appear to have them shown: https://plus.google.com/+justenergy/about

@Carmen the page https://plus.google.com/+justenergy/about is a brand page and as such it can't get reviewed. Just local pages can get reviews. And nope: There is no way to disable for local pages the functionality to get reviewed from customers.

Thanks for your reply!

Can you tell me what the difference is between a local page and a brand page, and the setup for each, along with pros and cons? I thought a local page was needed for good SEO with analytics. If we wanted to, could we turn a local page into a brand page, or would we have to create an entire new page?

Hey Carmen

the differences between a local pages and a brand page is mainly this:

Local pages will shown up on a map while brand pages don't.
The second main difference you know already:
local pages can get reveiws while brand pages don't.
This has nothings to do with SEO..

Here a link what a brand page is for: https://support.google.com/business/answer/4570248?hl=en
and here the same for local pages:
