Hi, I am wondering How can I change map marker icon to a Custom icon. For example, when we search a Bar or coffee shop, we can see a nice Icon. How can They do this? I have my verified location. But This showing a place marker Icon Only.
** I created a Map from Google My Map. Add a custom icon (with a symbol). But if I search my location from another browser then, Address is not displaying with this new icon.

How to add a custom Icon On Google Map
Google adds the icons programmatically based on their own unpublished rules.
Depending on the zoom level they typically will highlight restaurants, hotels, ATM, education, libraries, health facilities and certain types of shopping locations. They are also added on a personal basis depending on your previous reviews and web searches.
Historically the shopping ones were assigned based on category and some measure of "popularity".
Bottom line is that there is no way that we know of to affect the icon.
