Hotel Amenities

Hi

I've seen some hotels showing "Amenities" in their Google Knowledge Panels, such as Free Wi-Fi, Room Service etc.

How do I add such Amenities to my Knowledge Panel?

Thanks in anticipation!

Hi Tim

I contacted Google and they added them for me within a couple of hours!

Hi @Paul S

Currently these are extracted from OTA sites and there is no formal structured data that can be applied to your site to provide these by yourself.

Yep, I know, pain in the butt.

The clear contender for Google extracting the data is from Booking.com, but they may be using a mixture of OTA sources to verify the same data.

I would ( for future ref )

Clearly display your amenities on page, when Structured data is available for these, you can then add them into page.

This is a hugh pain point of mine, where Google uses 3rd party data, rather then the actual businesses.

Hi Tim Many thanks for your prompt and informative response. We are already listed with booking.comand several other OTAs. What is most annoying is that some of our competitors have amenities listed on google and I am 100% certain they are listed on the same OTAs as we are. To me it seems unfair that the issue is completely out of our own control! Paul

@Paul S

to add a point to what @Tim Capper said

Google introduced about half year ago a program called "Local Guides"

All the Local guides are regularly asked about  "Amenities" of lots of businesses (incl hotels but not only hotels)

Google collect this information also and is using them.

I'm therefore not that sure they provide this "Amenities" from OTAs only

I searched for some assistance with the amenities section of the google panel. How do we remove amenities that are listed there. We have listed a 'free breakfast' amenity that we only offer on special rate codes during a certain period of time per year.

My business has the exact same problem; it's being listed with a continental breakfast, and though we sometimes do special bookings this way, its by no means a regular amenity. Customers are getting irritated.
