Google+ and GMB Listing Suspended - Spammy Behaviour (?)

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hi.

I hope someone can steer me in the right direction.

I received a GMB Postcard in the mail a couple of days ago.  When I prepared to input the code into the GMB dashboard I found that my listing had been suspended.

I used the appeal process to try and determine what the problem was and more importantly get it reversed.  When I appealed I made no changes to my listing prior to starting the appeal.

I received a reply as follows::

"Hello,

We have reviewed your request and can’t reinstate your Google+ page at this time. Your Google+ page has been suspended for spammy behavior.

If you have any further questions, please consult the Google My Business Help Center.

Thanks,

Google My Business Support"

I then reviewed my listing again to check if there where any obvious infringements and the only thing I could come up with was that I had used some industry related images (of unknown source) to 'flesh out' the listing until we created & prepped our own.

I removed those images and replaced them with some stock images that came with the blog theme we purchased to build our site with.

I then appealed once more to get the decision reversed.  That appeal was sent approx. 24 hrs ago and as of yet I have not had a reply.

If I post the details of the listing here I would greatly appreciate if someone could offer any advice as to the next step, if any, I can take to move this process on.

At this time the only other thing that may have raised any flags is that I had a friend in the UK help me set the listing up and he did log into my account from there with my permission. So could that be what we have 'done wrong' in Google's eyes? I need to get this sorted as we are a new business and getting online marketing going is key to us surviving as a start-up.

Any help will be much appreciated!

@Helmut Geissler

Thanks for the reply.

You're right it is a single family residence.  We're a start-up and the address is were we are starting from. As revenue increases we'll take on more overheads.  Additionally we don't serve any customers at the address and I did indicate that fact on the GMB listing (there is a question concerning that in the application process).

Do you think that the residential address is why GMB considers us as spammers?  I don't remember seeing a stipulation that one could not use a residential address - did I overlook that somewhere?

A colleague in the UK also runs a business from his home - serving his clients away from the premises - and he had no problems setting up his listing over there.

delete your suspended business from your dashboard and start then from scratch creating a SAB listing according https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038163?hl=en

@Helmut Geissler

I followed your advice to the letter.  Started from scratch & GMB confirmed they were sending out a new postcard and then 24 hrs later... suspended again for quality issues.

So I added 'hours of operation' which I had not included, set the business cover photo and added a tagline to the Google+ page.

I then appealed the suspension and just like clock-work the listing got denied for spammy behaviour...

What the heck am I doing wrong..??  What 'spammy behaviour'..?

If anyone in this community has ANY idea what is going on I would be much obliged.  In the absence of any advice of any effective actions I can take I guess our new business is NOT going to be using Google search as  a way of being found.

@Helmut Geissler

Thanks for the reply and sorry for tardy reply.  At the end of last week I just got to the 'fed-up' stage with this whole GMB thing...

We don't have any documentation from the Comptroller of MD (did not think this was a prerequisite for GMB listing).

I do have a # that makes up part of the email I received back from GMB - is there something I can do with that..?

please don speak in riddles @Frank-ly

Did you get a case ID or not - and if so:

what Case ID and when did you file the appeal (mm/dd/yyyy)

Do yo have any official document showing your business name and and its addres - the latter must be the same as specified in your dashboard.

With all due respect... the only riddle here is the one Google presents to
people trying to make a GMB listing...

I did say that I don't have anything license-wise from the state of
Maryland yet - hence my reference to the Comptroller...

As for the number you refer to as a 'case number', nowhere in any email
from Google have I been advised of a 'case number'. However there is a 12
or 14 digit number in the subject line of their latest email - [4-
0655000013989]

GMB replied to me 10/21, the next day or 36hrs after my appeal submission.

If I'm wasting my time continuing here it would be greatly appreciated if
you would let me know.

Thank you for your help anyways
