Google My Business - Not showing this page because it is a duplicate of another

Hi

I am looking for some guidance on the best way forward with this problem.

I had forgotten that I had registered a Google + page (Brand page) when we first starting setting up the website a year ago. It was set up under my personal gmail email for the business and therefore personal ownership. This is the current (original) Brand page  link for Clean Cleaner https://plus.google.com/u/0/114682416977164157000 (https://cleancleaner.co.uk). The original G+ listing is verified.

We didn't appreciate the complications that this would produce and completely overlooked the fact that it had been registered.

In the last two weeks, because we have failed to show in local search results, we went into Google My Business and went through the setting up of a business page listing using the business email, noticed that a Google+ page is automatically set up at the same time, but didn't realise the implications. Requested a verification pin and put it in when it arrived only to be faced with a big red banner saying that the listing couldn't be published as duplicate locations.

We then assumed that it would be a simple matter of deleting a location (because the original G+ listing (personal ownership) was showing alongside the new listing (business ownership). Deleted the original listing, but as we now know, that didn't delete the listing merely removed it from the duplicate locations shown on the new business listing of GMB.

Finally worked out the connection and finally got back into the original G+ and started to realise the mistake and how much more complicated the listing process is for Google.

The GMB account (business email ownership) is now showing a red banner that reads ' we're not showing this page because it is a duplicate of another'. We have followed as many threads and help guides as possible, but haven't found anything to cover this situation.

The questions are:

Which part should be deleted and which retained - either the new GMB and G+ account or the original G+ account (verified)?

Can the deleting be done by us or will it need to be referred to Google to be removed cleanly?

If deletion of anything isn't the answer how do we combine the original and the new to stop the duplication?

I hope the above is explained adequately.  Any suggestions or links to instructions would be gratefully received.

Thanks in anticipation.

I suppose you are talking about this verified SAB listing:

https://goo.gl/maps/5Cegdfaz3nN2

if not: Please contradict.

If yes: What are you trying to do with this listing?

YOu can't simplemente create any other instance of this listing. if there is anythisng to do it should be done by the actual owner of the listing.'
In case this owner isn't known or to access anymore there is  special problem to solve and a certain procedure to apply.

Pleas eelaborate;

Google My Business - Not showing this page because it is a duplicate of another

Hi Helmut

The listing you referenced is the correct one.  That comes from the original G+ account that I set up a year ago under my personal email and it was verified, but I had forgotten about all that.  Not realising how the google setup works I recently went through GMB to set up a new page that way, not realising that it would create a new G+ page again, done with the cleancleaner business email.  Both the original and the new are under my ownership, but one is accessed via personal email and the other via business email.

The question is - what is the best way of removing the duplication?  Do I / Can I delete the newly created GMB and G+ listing leaving the original G+ verified listing.  Will that then allow me to adjust the verified G+ listing into a GMB listing for local services?

Does that make sense?

Hi

I didn't get any further replies so I am hoping this bumps back up to the top to be able to get some guidance. Below are some details to clarify following the original post.

https://www.cleancleaner.co.uk

Service area business

We had a google+ page set up and verified last year, but I forgot it was set up and accessed using a personal gmail address.  Under my ownership.

This is the page https://plus.google.com/114682416977164157000. It had a custom URL, but that appears to have gone in the last couple of weeks since this duplicate location took place.

This is the map listing for the original verified listing https://goo.gl/maps/srB5qVAqzRS2

Not realising what listing we had, we tried to set up a Google My Business listing because it wasn't showing on GMB as a business and that automatically created a second G+ page. Again, without us realising what had happened. This was set up using the business email in order to tie it in with adwords and search console and analytics.

This is the new unverified, duplicate listing https://plus.google.com/102654729803362894523

This is the map listing for the new duplicate listing https://goo.gl/maps/d9QL8fYdbS22

What is the next step? To delete the new listings? Do we need to delete the G+ and the GMB listings separately or will deleting the GMB page alone delete both? What about the map listing?

In deleting the duplicate listing will this leave the original verified listing in place, albeit without the custom URL?

Thanks in advance

@Peter S

at first explaining why you didn't get any response on your response:

Its because you didn't "mentioning" me per  " @[my name]" (as I did mentioning you as @Peter S)

I now but by chance only  read your todays "bump"

To the matter:

I now understood you're talking about this verified SAB listing:

https://goo.gl/maps/5Cegdfaz3nN2 but apparently lost any credentials to access and edit it.

And because of losing  the credentials you simplemente created an other instance  getting it handeled by GMB as a "duplicate of an other one".

So it would all fine in case you get back the credentials of your  verified SAB listing:

https://goo.gl/maps/5Cegdfaz3nN2

Is this right?

Hi @Helmut G

I hope that this reaches you and apologise for not knowing the need for the addressing protocol.

The verified listing was set up as Clean Cleaner, but under a personal email login and therefore it seems to be linked to to me personally.

All other google accounts have been set up under the business email.  This is why we thought to set up a GMB listing under the ownership of Clean Cleaner.

I have ownership and login/editing rights on both the verified listing (personal email) and the new, duplicate listing (business email).

How do we proceed to best remove the duplication?

Thanks.

Hi @Helmut Geissler

I wasn't sure if my reply to you had reached you by using Helmut G and saw that another post had addressed you in full so I thought I would just cover all bases and follow up with the full name as well, just so you knew I had replied.

Thanks
