Google Local Search is not displaying our company logo

There seems to be a problem with displaying our company logo in Google maps instead it is displaying a picture that no longer exists. Just as a bit of background info, I have contacted Google My Business help team 3 times regarding this matter and still no solution.
Firstly, I was told that in order to make our company logo show we had to select which identity photo to use. I have changed the profile picture to select our profile photo and even tried it with logo photo by clicking the 3 dots on the right hand side of "Identity Photos" in the local listing photos section. I was then advised it would take 24 - 48 hours for this to update.
So a few days went by and still no luck of displaying our company logo in Google maps, so I phoned the Google My Business team again. I explained that I was still not having any luck in displaying our company logo so they said there seems to be an error in the system and they are getting the engineers to have a look into it. Few days go by and then I noticed that our logo was correctly displaying in Google Maps, success!
However, a few days went by and then the picture had since then reverted again back to the original photo. You can see the photo its using if you type in "Moonshine Internet Holt". So after phoning back again I was told that the problem was unable to be fixed because it's part of an algorithm.

So just to point out that I am still unable to display our company logo by using Google my business which is very disappointing. I would of thought that "Google" being the shining example of user experience would make it simple to display a company picture. Although after multiple attempts at trying to fix this, I have just been sent around in circles.
Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Jeremy S

Google randomises images that have been added by the public, to upload to public.

If you added these images, then remove them, it will revert back to your set Logo, until someone from the public adds an image :)

Make sure your logo is set in your dashboard.

Markup your logo on site

Something like this :

<div itemscope itemtype="">
   <a itemprop="url" href="">Home</a>
   <img itemprop="logo" src="" />

Thanks for the help Tim really appreciate it, fortunately I had access to the public account where I uploaded the photo's from. I did have to do some digging around to find the "Delete this photo" button.

The 3 dots located in the top right hand corner of the images:
