Domain Name as Business Name Causes Issues with Knowledge Panel?

It seems that listing my business under ProgressiveThinkin will give me a "knowledge panel" on google results if I search for progressivethinkin. However, if I search for progressivethink.in it does not yield the knowledge panel. I thought that by changing the business name to ProgressiveThink.in, our preferred representation of our company name by the way, the knowledge graph never shows up regardless of how much time I wait.

It is possible that having a domain name as a company name breaks the knowledge panel? Just for clarification I have structured data in my pages and list the company as follows:

		<script type="application/ld+json">
		  {
		    "@context": "http://schema.org",
		    "@type": "Organization",
		    "name": "Progressivethink.in",
		    "alternateName": "Progressivethinkin",
		    "url": "https://www.progressivethink.in",
		    "logo": "https://www.progressivethink.in/assets/business_logo.png",
		    "contactPoint": {
		      "@type": "ContactPoint",
		      "telephone": "+1-321-348-8471",
		      "contactType": "customer service"
		    },
		    "sameAs": [

		      "http://twitter.com/PThinkn",

		      "http://facebook.com/ProgressiveThinkin",

		      "http://plus.google.com/+ProgressiveThinkin"

		    ]
		  }
		</script>

Progressivethink.in Structured Data

  1. Progressivethink.in
  2. 761 Silver Birch Place
    Longwood, FL. 32750
  3. (321) 348 - 8471
  4. +Progressivethinkin

Hi @EldonMcGuinness

No, its not breaking the knowledge panel. The search for "ProgressiveThinkin In" will not display your business KP regardless of the business page name or structured data.

This is because at the moment Google does not feel that a user searching for "ProgressiveThinkin In" is looking for your website.

Once you get your website ranking around pos 3 to 5 for "ProgressiveThinkin In" then it will most likely display.

But you have a fair way to go, because Google will need to understand this as an actual Brand and not change the search : Showing Results for >> Progressive Thinking In

I'm not sure if it is a typo, but you put progressivethink in, notice the space. What I'm looking for is "progressivethink.in" and "progressivethinkin" to trigger the knowledge graph.

I can get "progressivethinkin" to trigger it, but progressivethink.in does not, even though progressivethink.in and progressivethinkin both result in my site being first in the list.

will put my two cents on the table prepared by @Tim Capper foro @EldonMcGuinness:

The other issue with the listing is this:

it's large service area of a radious of about 300 miles

This prevents oyu getting ranked as Google will not consider you facing your custumers "in person" in such a large Service area.

Hi @EldonMcGuinness

Same will apply. Google displays what they believe is relevant to the users search.

However, try adding your actual business name to the <title> that might trigger it.

Cheers for all the information, I will try to narrow the service area and also at it to title and see what results in a couple weeks.
