Does Google differentiate between phone extensions?
I'm running a University's local SEO. I want to have the Department of Music listed separately from the University's main listing (acceptable according to Google guidelines: https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en). But they request that you include separate phone numbers. The only thing that differentiates the department from the main University phone number is an extension.
If I list the phone number with an extension, will Google treat those two numbers as separate (and thus acceptable)?
Re: Does Google differentiate between phone extensions?
Hi @Gabe G
I don't believe or have seen a business page using an extension. There is also no ability to add an extension in the tel section when creating a business page.
You can certainly try.
Any other TC's know the definitive answer on this ?
