Asking a question

Just peeking in the community for the first time and I have to say off the bat, it is ridiculous how hidden the 'ask a question' link is. Why is it not shown on the GMB community front page? It's almost as if GMB is intentionally trying to limit the number of questions. Really, really not intuitive at all. I expect a lot more from Google.

I also think the logic is screwed up here regarding time stamps. Why do I have to wade through months of old conversations to find what I'm looking for? I'm sure there is a way to filter, but again, it's incredibly un-user friendly.

Now that I have waded through this swamp of bad interface, my question that I came here for is:

What is the news in GMB with regard to verifying and Google Maps in Local search? There is something brand new that is nowhere on the Internet, not a single tech blog has picked it up yet, and I don't see anything on it in this forum. I had a popup while working for a client, a brand new popup I've never seen before, warning me about some kind of penalty in search, regarding how your location looks on the map on the right hand side in basic search. I know, I should have screenshot it, my bad. Wish I had. But surely some GMB expert knows what this is all about and can send me a link to a full explanation about this change. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. - Scoop

Hi @Scoop B

Have not heard of or seen anything like you are describing in popup. If you see it again grab a screenshot : )

As to this forum ... well.

You have by now realized that Google is a whole mass of parts and not 1 entity and it's a case of one hand not knowing what the other is doing. No doubt the forum platform will change again in a year or so.

please provide a screenshot showing us what you are talking about
Note I don'e refer to your complaints about the forum but about the "popup
while working for a client, a brand new popup I've never seen before,
warning me about some kind of penalty "

Hi,

Only took forever for me to figure out how to ask a question -- that was CRAZY.
I logged in from my computer at home and now when I get to work google tells me someone else owns my business -- cannot google allow both of my computers to log into my business --sounds way nuts.
Please reply to my hotmail account because I don't this I could ever find my way back here <edited by a Community Manager as noted below>
