Tracking Mobile Traffic With A Segment/h2>
is a feature that allows you to isolate data in GA for a specific report. You can create your own custom segments or just use the ones provided for mobile traffic.
- Mobile Traffic
- Tablet Traffic
- Mobile and Tablet Traffic
- Mobile and Desktop traffic

is a feature applied at view level. It looks only at a subset of data. Instead of applying a segment on all your reports, you could just use a filter. This may gain time and make the GA more structured.

Setting Up a Custom Dashboard
A great way to structure GA is to have a custom Dashboard to go back to. This allows you to compare your mobile traffic over time from multiple different reports. Then you can find areas which are over or underperforming and take the right decisions based on the insights you get.
You can start by using the dashboard that we have created and that is available for download. You can always customize it the way you want.
h2>Separate Mobile Site Tracking
Steps to implement GA on a separate mobile site:
1- Put tracking code on mobile site web pages (just like on desktop)
2- Implement it like a subdomain by setting up cross-domain tracking.
3- Set up a view which tracks traffic to the mobile subdomain only. You should have 3 views: one for only mobile, one for only desktop and one for both.
