Create urgency and boost conversions over Xmas & Boxing Day

Hello fellow AdWords lovers!

 

Christmas is bearing down upon us all and we're almost midway through one of the busiest retail periods of the year.

 

I want to share with you all a couple of tips to help improve your conversions over the coming Christmas sales period:

 

 

1.) Use the COUNTDOWN function to create urgency for pre-Christmas delivery.

 

Everyone wants their gifts in plenty of time for Christmas but many users will still make last minute gift purchases - It is this urgency that we must play on to generate extra conversion with time-sensitive call to actions.

In a nutshell: Using the COUNTDOWN function you can specify a time and date that is the latest a user can order for pre-Xmas delivery. You adverts can then look something like this....

 

 3 days to go....

2. Use remarketing adverts to promote Boxing Day/January sale in advance.

 

A great way of generating interest in an event is to use remarketing adverts via display network to increase awareness of the sale in advance. This will help to drive extra traffic and sales on the day and is a great follow on from the above.

 

If you haven't already you should configure your audiences straightaway to ensure you have plenty of users to remarket to.
