Adwords Account Error

While diagnosing the keyword the message is "Your ads aren't showing because the spending limit defined by your account-level budget has been reached". What does this message mean?

The credit remaining in the account is $500+ and the campaign daily budget is $400 yet the ads are not running.   the campaign has not accrued any click & impression yet i see this message.

now i fail to understand, is there any issue in the campaigns setting, the account's preferences or there is any error in Adwords backend.

Can anyone share his/her insight on this?

Hi Wassif,

As a billing specialist on the AdWords Team, I have seen this issue numerous times before.  Most likely, if the account is on prepay or manual payments, this means that all of the prepaid funds in the account have been used.  While you may see a credit balance now, this may not reflect the actual state of the account due to standard reporting delays.  I would strongly suggest making another payment. If this does anot solve the issue in 24-48 hours (if using credit/debit card payments), then you should contact your local support team as we would need to view account details to diagnose further.

Hello Jeremy,

Thanks for the suggestion however making another payment does not resolve the problem always. I agree that there can be standard reporting delays, but can the reporting be delayed for 2 weeks? let me share another experience with you. I had another account where in the same problem took around 15 days to get resolve. The account had more than $1000 as credit balance yet the ads were nnot running due to spending limit defined by your account-level budget had reached. Now if i am correct the account-level budget is the term associated with the accounts on MDS whereas my account is a prepay account. Even in this account, its been 4 days now yet the account balance shows as $506. I believe its a system error. The system is not able to read the account balance and update it.

I have tried contacting the local help centre aswell. What they said is that they have contacted the specialist team to investigate the account and will revert back when they hear from them (specialist team). its been 4 day now and no one has bothered to call back & update.

Hi Waasif,

Thank you for your concerns.  While you could see this message on accounts that are either on MDS or an ALO, I most often see this message on prepay accounts.  For further troubleshooting, I would need to look into this account specifically.  As of now, I can only speak in generalities. Therefore, your best bet would be to contact your local support via email and ask for an update.  If you do not have an email thread to which to reply, you should call the local support number, reference this case, and ask for an update.

very strange, one of our client accounts was hit with this, claiming that the account level budget had been reach - but as we pay manually in advance, there is no campaign level budget. We set a budget in the shared library and applied it to all campaigns, that seems to have released the hold. Strange, but at least the doors of the business are re-opened.
