seperate ads for each type of device

Hi,

If I check the mobile box in an ad, does the ad also show up on all devices?

What is the advantage of having separate ads for desktops, mobile phones and mobile phones with addresses.

Thanks

Yehuda

Yes if you check mobile it would show on both (desktop+tablets) +mobile. The advantage of separation is the posibility of receiving direct calls after clicks on your number in the ad showed on smartphones. Read an interesting debate here :    https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Manage-ads/mobile-optimized-ads/td-p/124664

Hi YehudaB,

When you read the referenced thread, a Googler confirmed with an enhanced campaign specialist that if you mark the ad for mobile only it will show to mobile only. The reason for the vague language mentioned in the post is this is only true if the group also has ads not marked for mobile only.

In other words, you can not create a mobile only ad group by including only ads marked mobile. If all ads in a group are marked mobile, they will still show on desktops and mobile. If you have both types of ads, Google will prefer the mobile ad over the desktop ad.

Best of Luck!

Pete
