review extensions list of 3rd party sources

Hi everyone, I'm working on understanding seller ratings and review extensions.  This one is for review extensions.  Is there a list of qualified 3rd party sites to use for the review extensions?  I'm surprised that I can't use or in the past it wouldn't work for us- yelp and google reviews?   Can we use these sites on review extensions?

Thanks!

Hello again Matt,

there is no list of 3d party sources for review because that list would be almost endless. You just have to make sure it comes from some Newspaper, some reputable Website as a whole, not just single person etc.

I don't think Google review nor Yelp reviews qualify for review extension, because these only provide reviews from individual customers, which is against Review extension policy.

That's just so vague. Just keep trying till it works I guess. Can you
offer a few examples? It is a review extension, so it's of hard to see
how individual reviews dont work. It is the rules,

Would something like this work?

It's hard to find any good examples really. From what I have heard/learned that Google is very strict about Review extensions and by reputable third-party sources they really mean reputable.

This is something you will have to test first, if it's fine, then it's fine and if your extension will get disapproved, at least you will know that you will have to aim higher.

press-releases are explicitly not allowed.

a general rule-of-thumb for review-extensions is that
the content is from from an independent third-party,
typically copyrighted requiring some (legal) permission
from the third-party-owner to use the content.

for example, the new york times has just written an
article about your area of business and happens to
highlight something special about your business in

the article -- you would require permission from the

times to use the content.

more specifically, the information used
must be accurate, current, and credible.

you would think that "review extension" would apply to review sites. So
it's really a independent cite source from a 3rd party trusted site. Got
it!

the term mainly refers to how the ad
is augmented -- not the type of site.

there are many other types of extensions --

Hello Matt,

These are some examples that will help you understand from what kind of authorities you need to get certified/reviewed to use them as your review extension-

those are not review-extensions.

review-extensions are a specific type of extension
that entails adding a specific quote from a source --
review, award, or accolade.

the source for the quote is typically inspected

and approved by google before being added.
