Hi All,

Is there a way to merge one ad group into another? e.g. I created multiple add groups but have yetto make an add so I simply want to place into an exisiting group.

Hope that makes sense

Hi arinewman

The fastest way to merge ad groups is by using the AdWords Editor tool. I'd suggest you download the tool and upload your camapign(s) into the tool. This tool will always allow you make any changes offline.

What do you need to do:

1. Download the tool

2. Get familiar with the functions

3. Copy the keywords from the ad group that you don't want to keep

4. Paste the keywords into the ad group that you want to keep active.

Please read this help center article for more information.

Does this help?

Best,

Another solutions to this would be to go to the adgroup you want to move across, go to the keywords tab and highlight all keywords.

Click "more actions" then copy. This will then let you copy the keywords into another adgroup in another campaign.

This way you don't need to have adwords editor although I would use editor myself to do this.

When i got to the step Click "more actions", I could not find a link or button with this name. I even did a text search in Firefox and no such string was found.

This answer must be for a previous version of Adwords. In the current version, it seems to work like this (I'm a beginner, so I may be wrong):
1. Choose the ad group from which you want to merge keywords.
2. Choose keywords tab.
3. Click top checkbox to select all keywords.
4. Choose Edit then Copy.
5. Navigate to the ad group to which you want to merge the keywords.
6. Choose Edit then Paste.

Now you can navigate back to the previous ad group and choose Edit then Remove if you want to delete the merged group.
