Hello,

GCLID is actually Google's parameter which defines that click has originated from AdWords. This feature is actually called auto tagging where your destination URL is appended with this parameter. More details about auto tagging here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3095550?hl=en

What exactly you want to accomplish here? If you want to manually tag your URLs, you should consider using Google's URL Builder: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en

In case you want to integrate your AdWords data with some 3rd party tool you might consider using Value Track Parameters. Here are the details: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375447?hl=en

Hi guy a,

You can disable auto-tagging if you don't need the gclid value for anything. You can then add anything you want to the query string of the destination URL. If you want to track the keyword that triggered the impression, you can use Value Track variables for that. For the keyword, use {keyword} in the URL.

I'm not sure how this would affect AdWords conversion tracking. I think it should still work, if you have placed that conversion code on your "thank you "page.

Best of Luck!
