display network managed placements

I have noticed when I am using my Display Network Image Ad campaign that the automatic placement setting brings many clicks from certain URLs and that if I place that particular URL in the managed placement it not longer brings clicks? In fact, I get very few clicks at all under managed placement, even with URLs that did very well in the automatic placement.?  Dana

Hi 47xlxxx2E,

I think this is a question of how keywords and managed placements work together. Check out all the options here: http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en-GB&answer=1722050&from=99478&rd=1

If you your setting is: Display Network - Specific reach: Show ads only on pages that match all my targeting methods - then your ads will only show if BOTH the keywords and the managed placements match, so if before you were targeting all websites that include your keywords, now you are targeting only your managed placements if they include those keywords.

You could change your settings to "Broad reach: Show ads on pages that match my primary targeting method"

I also recommend this article on where your ads can show on the display network: http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1209882

Hope this helps,
Karl
