Hi Rishi,

Basically by selecting just the 'Display Network" option for a campaign, you will be able to target users contextually on the network of websites that are part of the Google Ad Sense program.

You can use Text as well as Image ads in a Display Network campaign but your ads will only be shown on placements where your targeted keyword themes are mapped to.

In a "Search Network with Display Select" campaign your ads will be shown on the Search Engine Results Page & Search Partner websites when a users query matches your targeted keywords. Apart from this, your ads will also be shown on Relevant webpages across the display network.

To sum it up, 'Search Network with Display Select' will give you a wider reach as it is targeted to both the Search & Display Network thus increasing your visibility greatly.

You can find out more about the Display Select Campaign here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3437721?hl=en

Hope this helps.

Well...

The Serach with display select is mainly aimed for users who:

  • Have a limited budget with some "extra" that they wish to use on display (most of the budget will be allocated for Serach)
  • Do not want to "mess" with the complexity of targeting the display network (which does require some knowledge)
  • Promote "direct response" products (no branding)
