conversions not tracking properly

Hi Everyone,

Set up a campaign 3 months ago selling airport parking +hotel stays.

In adwords it says i have had 6 conversions in the last 30 days. if i check my internal system it states 22 sales.

Checking google analytics i can see that i had a total of 478 visits from my ppc channel to that page, yet analytics only registers 3 transactions.

I can't figure out how adwords is missing out on these sales, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan and welcome,

There could be many reasons behind it as if why the discrepancies are there.

Adwords cookie and Analytics cookie behaviour is different and they both behave in a different manner while calculating the conversions or sales or transactions. The look back window for Adwords cookie is 30 days only whereas for Analytics, it can last from 6 months to 2 years depending upon various factors.

There are differences in how Adwords would work and how your 3rd party tool works. Some reasons leading to discrepancies are listed here:

You can get the Transactions record and other stats in terms of Analytics using Ecommerce tracking which is altogether different from Conversion Tracking code.

I hope you have installed conversion tracking code on the right page, so that whenever check out success is reached, conversion is recorded.

Read the below listed article listing all the details of Adwords and Analytics differences in terms of conversion metrics:

Hope that helps!
