confusion in selecting keyword pricing

Hi All,

When I add keyword to a particular campaign and keep my MAX cpc as 0.01, for every keyword that I added it shows me minimum 1st page bid amount in Status Column. I do set them manually later on. But when I go to Traffic Estimator and use the same keyword, add max cpc n daily bid, it shows different pricing estimate for that keyword. Not sure which price should I consider?

Any suggestion or help? What is the difference between these 2 pricing?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Hemal

Hi Hemal S,

Welcome to the community...!

The first page bid estimate and the traffic estimator bid suggestion, both are just rough estimates. They are not accurate.

Select a bid considering your daily budget and advertising goals.

Please go through the following links which will give you bit more ideas about keyword bidding.

Hello Hemal and welcome,

The tools are meant to give you a direction when you start with Adwords. My opinion about these tools is that they should not be used blindly. Rather the advertisers should stick to their original plan of action in terms of which all terms they need to target and what is the estimated budget they are willing to spend initially.

So, gradually, when you start getting different metrics in your account, you will get to know where to spend more money and where to keep it low.

Tools are generic in the sense that whatever data Google has accumulated from the past and how the advertisers have been using them and bidding on various terms is provided to you. But there is no guarantee of any data which you get. That's all approximations. (You will see a note underneath when you use them mentioning the same.)

So, I would suggest you to keep working on your account because these account will vary from one advertiser to another in terms of may things like quality score, ad rank, max CPC etc...to name few.

My opinion!

Pankaj
