What is the data source used for household income geotargeting?

I read somewhere that IRS data is used for the household income geotargeting but I couldn't find a definitive reference in AdWords help. Can someone from the AdWords team confirm if that's the case? My company relies on IRS data for other uses so if AdWords uses IRS data as well, we'd be interested in using this feature.

Google uses only official sources - in the US this is: The U.S. Census Bureau

Thanks, do you know if there's official documentation mentioning that fact? I'd like to make sure that's the case as we need to vet the data source before we can adopt it for geotargeting.

No. there is no official documentation. Not sure I see the issue.  You can reference the source as: "data provided by Google".
