Hey everyone-

I'm working on a very large account for a client. They are going through a new website launch, and I need to update ALL urls with the following:

Update from http: to https:

Remove .aspx from the tail end of every link

What is the most efficient way to do this? I tried using the URL editor in AdWords editor and can't accomplish my goal. Any advice is appreciated!

AdWords Editor will be the best tool to do this. I recommend using the Replace Text feature (ctrl+h). Highlight all ads and/or keywords that you want to update the URLs for and then complete the two Advanced Changes in the images below:

Note: Don't make changes to the original ads, your history will be lost.

Create a copy and implement the changes as suggested by Jim.

Or you can also use the AdWords interface for the same.

Go to ads tab at account level > edit tab > scroll to change ads > update the final url and opt https.

  • Don't forget to click the check box Duplicate selected ads and set text in duplicates.
  • While selecting all the ads don't forget to click select all rows across all pages. Otherwise only those ads will be updated which are on the first page.

Did you try doing a search/replace in editor?

I agree with the copying/creating new ads first though.
